Most Easiest Way to Download YouTube Videos

In one of my recent post, I mentioned that YouTube may soon roll the option to download videos officially just by a single click. Infact the option is made available on some of the existing videos too, but till the option is rolled out to all the videos, just keep using the most easiest, simplest and best way to download YouTube videos that I am writing in this post.

  1. Open any videos in YouTube
  2. As directed on the image below, prefix ‘PWN’ in front of ‘YouTube’ in the URL

Incase you are an Indian YouTube user, you need to remove ‘.in’ from the URL
For ex. http://www.in.youtube.com/xxxx will become http://www.pwnyoutube.com/xxxx
  3. Get links to download the video.

That’s it! Simply by prefixing ‘PWN’ in front of ‘YouTube’ in the URL will help you download the desired video. Isn’t it too simple way?

FeedBurner made all Blogs Equal!

Months ago Google acquired FeedBurner, a service used for managing RSS Feeds of websites, by spending around $100 Million. Though Google have acquired it, things didn’t get better and still complains about this feed burning solution is in.

Recently when I visited the famous Gmail blog, my eyes could not believe the number of feed reader it displayed. For seconds I was astonished and continuously kept asking myself, whether the number of readers displayed is really true? One of the famous Google’s blog that always used to display thousands of readers, displayed ZERO in the reader count chicklet. And I have also taken a screenshot at that moment which I have uploaded herewith.

Later on when I visited some other popular blogs, there as well the feed count was ‘0’. Infact it was later that I realized that feedburner services were down at that point of time. But what I am worried about is, is such a service filled with flaws and bugs expected by a company that is taken over by the internet giant – Google by spending millions of bucks?

Beware while sending porn contents to your friends!

This morning I stumbled over a post that explained about the recent revisions and amendments in the Indian IT Act 2000 that particularly looks after cyber crimes. The post explains about the amended rules and also warns about how seriously exchange of porn contents would be dealt with.

The article also explains that porn contents does not mean the one that you exchange via compact disks or via internet, it also includes transferring text and images or MMS from your mobile, PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) or computer system.

It’s not just the Internet that the IT Act covers, it also covers activities performed using your computer, PDA, mobile phone, and other devices of communication. So, things like forwarding an SMS and sending an MMS too now fall under the jurisdiction of the IT Act.

So even if you are transmitting such unlawful contents with your friends in India, take extra care whether the contents reach to appropriate recipient else you’ll have to face a lot of financial hardships or it may even put you behind bars.

Now Backup list of your Orkut Friends on your Hard Disk!

Its not too long that, Orkut Plus launched a scrap backup tool called Scrap Backup mate using which it was possible to backup a copy of all the scraps of Orkut scrapbook locally (i.e. on your hard-disk).

Because of a huge positive response to this awesome tool, OrkutPlus has recently developed another similar tool using which, you can backup the list of people in your Orkut Friend’s list along with the link to their Orkut profile and their name and E-mail Address.

This tool named Friends Backupmate, has the ability to store all your friend’s Orkut profile link just with a single mouse click. According, to the official coder of OrkutPlus, they are looking for developing one such tool that will automatically add all the backed up friends in your new profile.

If you too want to backup your friend’s profile, just visit Friends backup page (English | Portuguese), provide your Orkut login and within seconds, a list of all the people in your friends list will be generated. 🙂

Google to Close Video Service Shortly

Recently Google closed down many of its services including Jaiku, Mashup Editor, Google Notebook and other Google products, and now Google Video Blog has come up with an announcement, that it will shortly close down its video services too. Google adds that, though the existing videos will not be deleted and will remain as it is, but they would not entertain any further uploads of videos after a few days. Here Google Video is not to be confused with YouTube that Google brought into its banner sometime in October 2006.

In its Official video blog, Google team says:

In a few months, we will discontinue support for uploads to Google Video. Don’t worry, we’re not removing any content hosted on Google Video — this just means you will no longer be able to upload new content to the service.

So, people who have already uploaded their videos (including me) need not panic seeing these bad news by Google as existing videos will be left as it is. But new uploaders need to search for some alternatives. And I think YouTube is the best alternative available!

Now Register .IN Domains from Godaddy!

Godaddy.com– One of the most popular domain registrar has now come up with support to register ‘.in’ and other ccTLD ( Country code top-level domains). I personally take it as an opportunity, becuase, earlier we used to miss out all the discounts and coupon code offers while registering for .in domains. 🙂

Not only options to purchase ‘.in’ domains are visible, except this, other India related domains that are now being supported by GoDaddy are “ .co.in | .firm.in | .gen.in | .ind.in “ etc. As GoDaddy has now included support to purchase Indian domains, you can also move your .in domains from existing registrars to GoDaddy.
