Yes, today we are discussing the most advanced and the only working or better we say properly working orkut scrap all friends script. Hide your profile picture from everyone except your friends

Facebook and it’s features is so vast that it’s nearly impossible to use it hundred percent. But I found a very useful feature of it while accessing it. It is that you can hide your profile pic from all those who are not in your friend list.Isn’t it a cool feature which ensures a total privacy specially for female users because anyone can misuse their picture anywhere on the net. Also it ensures that nobody can ever make a fake profile of yours until and unless he’s your own friend. 😀

An important feature with a simple implementation.Just go to,

Settings>Privacy Settings>>Search.

Or simply click here. It redirects you to the same page. Now uncheck the first option that is “My profile picture”.You can also hide friend’s list, add as a friend link and send message link e.t.c.

Some basics of Facebook:

Check the Homepage screenshot below.

1.This is the Navigation bar of Facebook from where you actually operates everything.

Home: Link to your homepage

Profile: Your public profile which is visible to you and your friends only by default.

Friends: Use this to see your recently added friends or all of your friends, there recent updates and every info about them. You can also get your friend’s phone number in this tab if it’s set to be shared by them.

Inbox: To compose or read a message in your inbox.

Sj Singh: It will be your name in your profile 😛 .Works as same as Profile button discussed above.

Settings: Use this button to change your account or privacy settings. You can change your name, e-mail, content privacy mobile device info, language and networks here.By default the settings are perfect for a normal user so you may lave this section.

Logout: (difficult one :D) It is used to logout form your profile and current Facebook session.Always use this in a public computer.

2.This is used for updating your status.Basically it’s same as orkut but it’s much more advanced than that of orkut. You can share text, photos, videos and your favourite links too.

3.This is a filter by which you can refine updates (described in 6.) from your friend and public pages according to status, photos, links, videos e.t.c.

4.These are invitations from your friends of different applications, quiz, groups or pages.

5.Random highlights of your friends. It tells us about our friends that what they are doing on facebook. These highlights are simply defined and easy to understand.

6.These are all the updates from your friends ordered according to the date and time., that means most recent will be shown first. (Use 3. to filter results)

7.It shows all the activities of your friends of last few months. You can use it to see photos, videos, groups and events of your friends.

8.My favourite Facebook instant messaging.Use it to chat directly to your online friends. You can also use this to make or manage a friend list.On the right of Facebook Chat, there is a notification button which is once again helps you to get updated from your friend’s updates.

Profile Page:

On the profile page the most important thing is the wall which is actually the scrapbook of Facebook, that is the publicly shared messages.

Leave us a comment if there’s still a confusion and explore Facebook as much as you can to learn more about it. 😉

How to protect your Orkut Album Pics from being saved [Orkut Trick]

There are a lot of tips and tricks available for saving Orkut album pics and even we mentioned some of them on Devils Workshop. One is saving pics via dragging and dropping it on the address bar and the other one is enabling  right click on  the pics.

But here’s a very simple trick where you can protect your album pics in just few clicks.

You just have to tag your whole photo with any orkut profile (preferably your own) without leaving even a little space as that may lead to the failure of this trick.

How it works?

  • It simply doesn’t allow the user to either right click or left click on the images as both of them will directly open the tagged profile and hence nobody can drag them or save them from right click.
  • Try to save the pic in the link given here but don’t use the print screen button as that always works 😉

New Facebook Profile Links

It’s another major change in facebook since last month and this time they are going to change all the link of profiles on facebook. Unlike earlier, where the URL was just a random number assigned to the profile like

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1043785484

Now it will be like,

The reason of changing the profile ids with their username is to make it easier for people to find their friends on facebook. Also with new URLs people will be able to find their friends easily on search engines like Google or Yahoo.

The facebook users will be able to select their new usernames from 12:01 a.m. EDT on Saturday, June 13 which is 9:31 a.m in IST(Indian Standard Time),which is totally on the first come first serve basis. So just stick to facebook to get your desired username before anybody else takes it. 😉

Check the countdown at

Facebook is now avaliable in many regional languages

Now you can use world’s best social networking site in your own regional language like-  Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, etc.

Although, the site doesn’t support the text you write in your preferred language, but you can see your friend’s updates and everything that is written on Facebook in your own language. Most of you can see this new feature on your homepage, and if not, you can go to the language settings page (click here).

If you and your friends are using different languages, then don’t worry about that too! Facebook has its own language translation application. To view the application or to install it click here.

Pay-Per-Visit Programs over Pay-Per-Click

Sorry for writing after a long gap, but actually I was busy with my website. I am writing this post to share my experience of pay per visit (PPV) and pay per click (PPC) ads program as I am using both of them in my site.

The PPV ads that I am using is from Clicksor, which are basically  popunders. The company clicksor pays $0.01 per pop under, that means you get one cent whenever a person visits your website but company takes 40% of you income that means if 10 people visit your blog, you will earn 6 cents and the other 4 cents will go to clicksor. The one cent here is just the starting ad money and you may earn more per visit which depends upon the ads. The other one is the Pay Per Click(PPC) and the most popular PPC is Google adsense and you all must be familiar of that. High pay out and relevant ads are some features of the adsense.

Below is the list of advantages and disadvantages – PPV over PPC – that will answer all your doubts:

Advantages:

  • Guaranteed earning irrespective of the clicks.
  • No chance of account suspension due to fake clicks.
  • Relevant ads.
  • No diversion of traffic as the ad opens in a new window.
  • Compatible with all the other ad programs like adsense, adbrite.

Disadvantages:

  • Most of the pop under gets blocked by the popup blockers.
  • The pop unders can be used for spreading viruses which will decrease your site’s reputation.
  • Pop under generally irritates the visitor.
  • Explicit content could be there.
  • Same ads for long period of time.

You may share your experience in comments that will help us better to compare both of them.

Blog.Co.In Pays you for Blogging!

Yesterday I saw a Google ad on Devilsworkshop about Blog.Co.In. I found that the user interface of Blog.Co.In just like Blogger or WordPress but since it’s powered by wordpress, we can call it as the Indian version of wordpress. 😉 While the dashboard is just like the wordpress itself, the major difference is that you can write your blog in English as well as Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Bengali & Gujarati.

But that is not all, there are several other reasons that make bloggers switch/ start their blog with blog.co.in. It is their bonus program in which they assure to pay you bonus money by adding their own adsense ads. But your blog should qualify for their bonus program.

Here are a quick highlight on the criteria, your blog shall get paid upon:

  • It must be atleast 30 days old
  • Should have a minimum of 100 posts published with at least 500 words in each post
  • Should have at least 50 approved non-spam comments (Do not count Pingbacks and Trackbacks)
  • Should have your original content (NO free articles / NO copy-paste from internet)
  • Strictly follow their content policy
  • Does not violate any copyrights.

The minimum amount is Rs 1500/- and the upper limits depends on your blog and is not fixed. So, if you are a blogger and you are planning to start your own blog and want a fixed monthly income, then you can choose to blog at Blog.Co.In rather than using any other blogging platform and using your own ads.

Orkut is Showing Photo Comments in Updates

Orkut is seriously copying things from Facebook. First, drag and drop option to rearrange profile, then photo-tagging, applications (open-social), status update, last weeks wall-to-wall like conversation feature and now the photo comments of your friends photos is in your recent update as highlighted in screenshot below:

But unlike Facebook, you can see only your friends photo comment updates but not those on which your friends are commenting. On Facebook you can see every photo comment posted by your friend, even if the photo owner is not in your friend list.
