All WordPress based blogger might have come across ‘Subscribe to Comments’ plugin atleast once. It provides an option to the commentators to receive email of any future comments on that post. This plugin is helpful, both for the blog owner and commentator.
As shown on the image, once a commentator checks the “Notify me of follow up comments” he/she will be informed via email of all future comments on that post. Unlike previously, now WordPress blogger need not install this plugin separately as the WordPress blog says “There are no switches to pull or buttons to push to switch it on. It’s already enabled on all blogs”. So, if you are a blogger hosted on WordPress then forget the hassles to install this plugin, and if you are a commentator then you too have a advantage of not visiting a blog again and again checking for replies. Just subscribe to comments and forget it. 🙂
Recently we posted about how pirated copy of Windows 7 was leaked over the Internet. But, as per my advice, those who did not download the pirated copies and were waiting for the Official release of its beta version, have a good news!! 🙂 The beta version of Windows 7 is scheduled to be made available officially and for free from today. Though, it was about to be released sometime this afternoon (9th January), I am yet to see any download link on their official site.
But its for sure that, today the long wait will be over for those who were waiting desperately to have a look on Windows’ new OS – Windows 7. 🙂 Just keep looking for any download link on their official site.
If you are a follower of the Orkut Help Group, you must be aware how, in the recent days, many Orkut accounts were being hacked and as such, help group was flooded with questions on how these types of automatic account deletion and hacking cases should be handled.
To help people on tackling such hacking and automatic account deletion cases, Sreejoy – An active member of the help group has suggested some safety measures that every Orkut users should take care of.
Do not visit unknown profiles, as they may contain virus and malicious elements.
If possible avoid saving pictures from unknown Orkut profiles.
Never open multimedia scraps like music, videos, etc.
Also, do not forward such multimedia scraps as you too may help the hackers.
Just to increase your total friends count, do not add or accept unknown people as a friend.
As the home page of Orkut says “Never click any links or use java scripts while logged in to Orkut, doesn’t matter what they claim to do”. Even I would request you to adhere to this statement of Orkut.
If you keep in mind the above few things before logging into Orkut, I am sure, you will have a splendid Orkutting experience. 🙂
Since today morning my mail box started flooding with New Year Wishes and many sender did a common mistake is that, they sent mails to about hundreds of friends keeping every one of them in ‘To’ field. If you remember, few days ago, I posted on how to send Emails keeping the mail id of all addressees undisclosed. The main problem, in revealing names and mail id of people in your mailing list is that, many of your friends will start spying about you and the people in your contacts, also it will help spammers.
It is then, I felt the need to remind you of using the ‘BCC’ field while sending greetings to a group of people (say more than 15) as the address listed on BCC field will receive the mails, but unlike in the ‘To’ field, the mail ids of all other persons listed on ‘BCC’ field will remain undisclosed or secret. One more thing, if you are using Gmail, then do not forget that it has got a Email sending limit of 500. Hope this tip would help you and your friends. 🙂
And now, guys at Orkut help group wants you to spend a few minutes on sending them helpful and useful comments and feedback specially for the new photo sharing feature launched recently. You can share your view with them just by filling a short survey form that may not take more than 5 minutes to fill completely. 🙂 I would personally suggest you to write whatever you think about Orkut and its new photo sharing feature, because it is our feedback that encourage them to roll out exciting and new features every alternative day.
In one of my recent post I discussed about a free SMS service, that may be worthy to try out to send new year wishes. But if you are not a SMS freak and want to make calls but worried about the high STD and ISD call tariffs, then we have a solution for you too. 🙂

Well, this is not all, you need not end up using Voxox as soon your two hours of free calling is over. To start using Voxox, all you need is an internet connection and a headphone (of course with mic) with Voxox app downloaded into your pc.
Apart from free calling facility, Voxox has got other features as well like, Video Conferencing, Instant Messaging, Text Messaging, etc. So just download it and start calling your well wishers, doesn’t matter where they reside. 🙂
‘Search Engine Optimization’ (Also called SEO) as the name goes, helps webmasters to optimize their website or blog to get focused or ranked in search engines. Just a couple of days ago, I was searching for some good tips to easily drive a high amount of traffic into my blog and at that point of time I came to know that Google have released its own handbook on SEO for webmasters.
As of now, after following the guidelines, I did not notice a high amount of growth in my blog’s traffic but I am still optimist as these tips are provided by Google. 🙂 So if you are also a Google’s fan and want to those Google handbook on SEO then you can get it from here. 🙂
A couple of months ago, there was a lot of buzz in the blogosphere about Downforeveryoneorjustme which was used to check whether a given site is down just for you or for everyone? But Dingitsup is another new service, that is bit unique as compared to Downforeveryoneorjustme.
Using dingitsup, you will be notified whenever you website or blog goes up or even when it is down. 🙂 A good thing in this service is that you need not visit their site again and again, you will be notified in the way you like. Presently they have three notification options:
Twitter: You will receive a tweet about such notifications
Email: They can even mail you the notifications in the mail id provided to them.
Text: They also have an option, wherein you can receive notifications via SMS messages. I guess, this is the best service, provided your mobile operator is supported by dingitsup.
So, this service can be used as an alternative for Downforeveryoneorjustme as you do not have to bother about visiting the site again and again.
After the launch of various group messaging services in India, what comes to your mind as soon as you hear the word ‘SMS’? The answer must be surely either Google SMS Channels, SMSGupShup, Mytoday or Vakow. If not that, atleast Ways2SMS must have hit your mind. Isn’t it? But today I am going to introduce you with a SMS service after using which, you will surely rethink while choosing to rate these free SMS services.
Foosms, a Bangalore based company claims to provide you the best service at the most affordable price. Though it does not support group messaging, 🙁 but still as compared to other free SMS services in India, it is better. It has a plan for users who do not want to pay anything and also for them who want to avail paid services. As customary, if you send free SMS, it will contain advertisement ranging from 40-50 characters and there is no option to choose the sender ID of the SMS, but one thing I like in their free service is that you need not create any user id or login to send free SMS. 🙂 Now comes the paid service, if you are planning to pay out for the SMSes you send, then choosing the sender ID of the SMS will be upon your discretion, provided you authenticate the mobile number. For paid users, there are also options to schedule outgoing messages, so you need not bother of greeting your well wishers while you are parting at mid night this new year. 😉
Here comes a quick highlight on the advantages of FooSMS paid services:
A simple and hassle free interface of their website.
Option to schedule SMS to be sent at a future point of time.
Support for API using which you can create your own SMS applications.
Option to import delivery reports of the SMS sent.
Support for bulk contact imports and personalized messaging
Flexibility to choose the sender ID.
Except these advantages, there are certain disadvantages and drawbacks present in FooSMS too which I will discuss some other time. But I said it to be the best SMS service to be used this new year, because all operators blacklist holidays and you cannot use their promotional SMS schemes on these days and ultimately costing you around 2 rupees per STD SMS whereas if you purchase SMS credits from FooSMS it will cost you approx. 35-40 paise only per SMS. If you know any better service, do let me know.

Well, there is a good news for you all. To test out this service, we are giving away 50 SMS credits per user to first 10 commentators. If you too want to try out this cool service, just create your own account on FooSMS and let us know your id on FooSMS so that we can credit your account within 24 hours. 🙂
Hope you will enjoy wishing your loved ones using this cool SMS service. 🙂
