Orkut Updates – Add Colors, Images, Videos, Podcasts, Audio and other HTML formatting in scraps!

This is one of the most searched orkut hack as I remember! My posts – Sending Images in Scraps & Put Running Text In Scrap – on this topics still receive hits from search engines!

So why I am writing today about outdated posts?? Or are these hacks working again?

Yes, these hacks are officially working so lets call them features! And they are so many that we can enlist them as follows…

  • Adding images
    Copy and paste urls ending in .jpg, .gif, .png or .bmp and the image will appear in the scrap.
    for example, http://example.com/example.jpg

  • Adding videos from YouTube and Google Video
    Copy and paste the url and the video will appear in the scrap.
    for example, http://youtube.com/watch?v=videoid
  • Adding podcast/audio
    Copy and paste the url of an audio file and an audio player will appear in the scrap.
    for example, http://example.com/example.mp3
  • Adding html-embeddable objects
    Create or upload your content at sites such as photobucket.com, imageshack.com, rockyou.com or slide.com. Copy and paste the html embed code to share it with your friends.

You can use these smart features while sending scraps to your friends!

Also as all of above contains atleast one URL, that means you have to encounter image verification which is kinda annoying! 🙁

Finally… Dont get panic if this feature is not working for you as this feature is added to new profiles first! So if you are senior citizen on orkut (like me) you may have to wait for few days before you will be able to use this cool feature! 🙂

Hi Rahulbhai……as u said that u can send songs n videos in scrapbook…. HTML for videos are on youtube but i can’t find HTML for songs anywhere….would you please tell me how to find or make HTML of songs?…..how do u send songs in scrapbook?

Hi Rahul ….how can i insert pics/animated pics in orkut community threads.recently i have seen many animations in the community threads.i could not post such messages!….it is different from the orkut scraps.plz help.

Inserting images in orkut forum.

1.open ur scrapbook

2.click on ”add photo”

3.after adding the pic u ll get address in ur scrapbooks text area.

4.copy this address & paste it in ur forum message.

note: if u r starting a thread, do not include image in very first message

everyday i got a email from devilworkshop.org but still i have not got the solution of the problem “how to insert animated pics or songs in about me section n i am using new orkut”…..does anybody have the solution to this problem …………….

its easy..
for doin this..
first switch to new orkut.
go to your profile
click to edit
u’ll c the place[box] where u have to wright.
look for “html” on top right corner of the box.
click “html”
then paste the image code or and desired song code there..

u r right, however the song should get played by itself when anybody get into our homepage., i have seen in one of the home page were as i got in a nice Hindi song was the background song. Scrolled a page little down after going through about you….saw three buttons play, pause and stop.
And to my surprise i dint even touch those buttons the song was on as i got into that home page, can u shade a little light on this.

but i have a question

actually i have a png image (transparent – true color)
and i want to post it in my community forum
but when i upload it in the scrapbool to get the link..
its looses its transparency (alpha channel)

can u help me to post the same(tru color) image in the comm forum..
plzz help..
i can even use any code.. thats gives “rich content” error

and also sumtimes i upload an image in scrapbook
it gives the following error
“The file you selected could not be uploaded. It may be too large or it was not a valid image file. Please select another file or click the upload button to try again.”

neither its large nor its invalid image..
please help..

its because, orkut have limited its users to send a fixed amount of request (abot 20-25 i think) at onece. if u exceed the limit then u get this message. dont worry u ll be able to add frds again after almost a week..
