Update Facebook status using Twitter [How-to]

Facebook and twitter shows great similarities among themselves. They are also the top social networking sites available on the web now. Most of the web entrepreneurs, bloggers, web users and all are using both these services for promotions or growing their community/ connections. May be due to these knowledge, they had come into an ally and they are allowing us to connect both of their services together. Due to this, we can enjoy both these services at the same desk easily. What we want to do is to add a tiny twitter application to our Facebook profile.

Let us see how we can integrate both these services, through this tutorial.

Steps :

  1. Sign in to your facebook account
  2. Go to the Twitter application and add the application to your Facebook profile and click the ‘allow’ option, in the window shown

  3. Enter your twitter User name and password and sign in to the twitter

  4. A new page will appear which shows where you can update your twitter status(1), your recent updates(2) and a button showing “allow twitter……”(3)

  5. Click on the “allow twitter to update facebook status” button
  6. A new window will come and select your account and allow the application
  7. It’s all done now.You can check it now.

So, now enjoy the power of both these services together.

How would Facebook be in real life? [Video]

Facebook is a bit like a club. Where you get to meet interesting people, add common friends, have virtual farms and share photos online with friends without our knowing, other people can peek into them thanks to privacy problems.

This is all possible obviously because it is virtual but what would our lives be like if Facebook was real and not virtual. How would it be to come across unwanted random status messages or hide from people who wanted to chat with us.

Pakistan Blocked Twitter, Youtube, Wiki After Facebook

Coupe of days back Pakistan banned Facebook because few people created a page by the name of “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” and users were uploading images of Prophet Mohammad which is not allowed in Islam. For full coverage, head over to our Facebook news Blog.

Seems like Facebook is not the end of this internet censorship in Pakistan. Users reported that almost 450 sites including Twitter, Youtube, Wikipedia are banned in Pakistan.

As communicated by Pakistan telecommunication authority (PTA) “YouTube had been blocked due to “sacrilegious contents”. Though it’s not clear which particular content, but YouTube is blocked at this moment in Pakistan.

In a sad news Facebook is banned in Pakistan as ordered by Pakistan government. Pakistani government issued a notice to Internet providers to ban Facebook. This ban was a result of a Fan page in Facebook which is letting users to upload images of Prophet Muhammad.

As Islam prohibits any images of Prophet Muhammad, after few islamic lawyers won a court order, government was left with no other choice other than banning this social networking website in Pakistan.

The Facebook page named “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” was encouraging users to draw the images of Prophet Mohammad and that resulted in this fiasco.

New Security Feature for Facebook: Notify If Someone Log in Your Facebook Account

Facebook has become the most popular place for spammers and hackers, recently we had discussed about the Facebook Spam which is spreading like wild fire, but Facebook has rolled out a new security feature which will protect its users from malicious attacks.

Facebook has rolled out this security feature which will help users alot. The main use of this feature is, Facebook will alert you if some one tries to access your facebook account from someother computer device other than one which you use daily to login facebook. You need to register your computer device (which you use it regularly to access facebook) with facebook, So if someone tries to access your account from someother computer or mobile device, facebook will notify you. With a simple activation, users will be notified when hackers or others access their Facebook account from other devices.

To configure and activate this notification of unauthorized access, users need to log in to their Facebook account and go to Account Settings then click on the link next to “Account Security” at the bottom of the page. If you select the option to receive notifications for logins from new devices, when you log in, you’ll be asked to name and save the various devices you use to access Facebook.

For example, you can save your home computer, your school or work computer, and your mobile phone. Once you’ve done this, whenever someone logs in to your account from a device not on this list, Facebook will ask the person to name the device

Once you have set the computer device name, you will receive a email to confirm along with the instruction to deactivate the service incase if you need it.

Candid Camera Prank video is a spam application on Facebook

The other day I got a strange post on my Facebook account wall and it was that of a video. Luckily before I clicked on the video I saw the same post being posted by another friend and that seemed suspicious. The video claims to be Candid Camera Prank.

Image below is how the message looks like and will be posted with your first name on your Facebook profile by a friend you know.

Once you click on it and accept Facebook credentials and then spams every friend you have on Facebook. This way it spreads across Facebook.

The best way to protect yourself from such spam apps is to not click on it. Secondly also remove such updates from your wall so your friends looking up your profile do not click on it innocently.
