Breakup Notifier- Creepiest Facebook App Ever!

Are you one of those stalkers on Facebook, that love to know about relationship status of friends ? Are you in love with some one but the other person is in relationship with someone else ? Well, here you go, now be the first one to know about a split ! 😛

Breakup Notifier is one such application that lets you sign up for email alerts about break ups. Ahh! I wonder how did this idea come to some one. Here are the steps to perfectly stalk the person :

  • Go to this application.
  • Log in with your Facebook account.
  • Check all those people in your friend list who are in a relationship.
  • You are done, now wait for an email!

Whenever a person changes his relationship status, you will get the email and well yeah you can start with your stalking. I mean seriously, the Facebook business is in a boom these days. Create an app to tell about future, your horoscope, your luck percentage and now this. Facebook gives a chance to stalk people and many apps are in market due to this!

Facebook Messages to be made available to All

By now I guess everyone would be knowing about the new messages. The one that lets your email id be changed to abc@facebook.com 😉 Yeah and the same one which was about to be the Gmail killer.

Anyways, jokes apart Facebook has rolled out upgraded messages to many and has said ,

We’ve begun expanding the rollout of Messages to everyone on Facebook. This will happen gradually over the next few weeks.

So, after a long wait finally this is happening. Finally we do have the Facebook messages. I really like it.

Why should you have Facebook message ?

  • You can happily give your email id as abc@facebook.com.
  • You can just enter your Facebook id and get access to the Facebook profile. 🙂 No need to write the full email id just enter the name and you get it!
  • Facebook messages are a better way to do the talking if the person is not online. The messages appear as chat.

Mazda offers 20% Discount on Facebook Deals

Facebook deal is now in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. Facebook deals is offering many discounts on several products such as Mazda, Starbucks coffee etc.

When you check in to places from your mobile phone, you can avail many offers if they are available in your country. Well, this can be a nice way to advertise about the products or shops and off course Facebook usage will be increased. If I am given an option to avail the offer then obviously I will use my phone and Facebook. 🙂

But, here is the deal, Mazda the famous Car company is offering  20% discount for people every month for five months to customers who “check-in” at one of their five nominated places. People love to get offers and with this deal that lets you get offers by using Facebook, will rock!

[Interesting App] Refresh your Facebook Status memories with Archivedbook

Do you ever wonder what all have you written as status updates? There is one way that is keep clicking on older posts on your Facebook profile you may see it all, or try this application. It tells you about your status updates. 🙂

What does archivedbook tells you?

  • View all messages on your status message that is you get to go to that status update and see the comments.
  • Date when you posted the status, how many likes did you receive and how many comments.
  • View all your old status messages since the day you made your Facebook account.

How to use the ‘archivedbook’ ?

  • Go to the website archivedbook .
  • Click on connect.
  • You will be asked whether to allow the application.
  • Click on allow.
  • Once allowed it will take some seconds and show you the status updates.

Well, I liked going through all of them. Some were nice, some were bad, in short it was a nice walk through the status memory lane. 🙂 Do try out this app and let me know if you liked it.

Facebook updates Application roles and Security features for Developers

After tightening security towards the Facebook login, now Facebook is doing something for developers as well. Now Facebook developers need to choose whether they are admin or just testers and hence the functionality is divided (source).

If you come across a Facebook application you can choose among the following:

  • Administrator – complete access to the application and all its settings
  • Developer – can modify all technical settings and access Insights but cannot reset secret key, delete application, or add additional users
  • Tester – can test the application in sandbox mode but cannot change the application
  • Insights User – can access Insights but cannot modify the application

As you can see in the image above, you can choose to be any one of the above and see how it affects your experience.

You can also monitor and control changes to your application in a better way. when somebody changes something you get the notification through your email. (you can choose to do that)

Another Fake app “How addicted are you on Facebook”

Did you notice status updates saying how much addicted are you on Facebook? Well, that is another fake application or scam that asks you to complete a set of quiz.

When I saw this update on one of my friend’s wall, I tried to know that so clicked on the link. It asked me to complete a set of surveys or quiz as below.

I didn’t click on any of these but still  the message was posted as below.

None of the above is true! Earlier there was an application on it. It did tell you your addiction without making you click on things. Whataver,Ill suggest you something just look at the time you spend on Facebook and you’ll know how much addicted are you to it. 😀

Now login to Flickr using your Facebook account

We do love Facebook, and now other site that allows you to login through your Facebook account. Flickr now lets you login with your Facebook id.

Flickr developers said that they would be rolling out new improvements to make signing into Flickr much easier. Users can now login to their accounts using Google, Yahoo or Facebook. 🙂

The members that use Facebook or Google as their login ID can now also start sharing their public photo uploads to Facebook. Wow that is great, isn’t it ? 🙂 To be able to do that you need to check your accounts settings page.

Snaptu – the Facebook experience Redefined !

Facebook is launching an application Snaptu, to make user experience of Facebooking a better one on mobile phones. 🙂

Facebook said they want people to have a better mobile experience, no matter which phone they are having. It does not matter if the phone is a smart phone or not. Many people in-spite of having a smart phone do not use Facebook so effectively.

They are launching a new mobile app to make Facebook the most popular thing on phone also. 🙂 The Facebook for Feature Phones app works on more than 2,500 devices from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, LG and other manufacturers, and it was built-in close cooperation with Snaptu.

This is an application that provides a better Facebook experience. This includes a better navigation of home screen, contact synchronization and fast scrolling of photos and friend updates (this is seriously required, I must say). This will be made easily available to as many people as possible, I wonder if this will be launched in US as usual and will keep us waiting like Facebook messages. 🙁

3 Bugs in Facebook Chat

Have you ever noticed bugs in Facebook chat? Well, I have and I get them every single day. I wonder why doesn’t anybody complain of that or some step has been taken?

When I open my Facebook account, I look for my online friends on Facebook chat. I see many of them. On clicking any one I get to know that a particular person is offline. Either that person sees me and logs out or this is a bug.

Bugs in Facebook Chat:

  • A person appears to be online but is not.
  • When you click on a certain person, although the person is shown online he is not and you get no reply.
  • Sometimes the chat window disappears altogether.

After the news that phone number and home address have been made public (source) I have started having second thoughts on using Facebook.

Predict your Day with Facebook according to Zodiac Sign

According to a recent study it says your zodiac sign will be changed in 2011. So, people everywhere are finding out what their new zodiac will be and how will the day go by accordingly.

The study shows that people who were in a particular zodiac sign are now in the preceding one (source). For example if you were a pisces now you can be an aquarious.

Facebook has an application that tells about how your day will go according to the zodiac sign. You just have to click on the application, select your zodiac and see the result. You can also publish the result if you wish to. I find this application much better than others on Facebook. 🙂
