Move any Program to System Tray with TrayIt!

When you have a number of programs running on your system for most part of the day, that surely doesn’t mean that you are working only on those programs throughout, rather they will stay idle for most part of the day, and you will need them only when you need to perform a related task. This increases the number of tabs in the taskbar and the amount of space the programs occupy is annoying!

TrayIt! is a handy tool that lets you organize your taskbar by providing you the functionality to choose the programs which you like to place in system tray. The app is made to place the minimized background programs on your system on to the system tray, where it takes the form of a small icon as in the screenshot above.

To put a program into system tray, right-click on the minimize button on the program and select “Place in System Tray“.

Another way to move the program to system tray is by directly selecting the program from the TrayIt application interface and then clicking on “Place in System Tray” button.

TrayIt also allows you to group similar programs together even in the system tray. When two or more similar programs are minimized to tray, then it creates a single icon for both of them. This will prevent the overuse of tray also.

Some of the other programs related features include – permanently keeping the program in system tray, hiding the program from system tray also, and some customizations related to TrayIt application itself. This is the simplest way to switch in between programs yet keeping the taskbar clean! Simply download it from the link below, extract it in the folder of your choice, and keep your taskbar neat! TrayIt! runs on Windows 95/98/Me, NT/2000/XP only.

How to: Use Google SSL Search as Default Search Engine in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer

Google made it clear to the world that it cares for user security and privacy, by introducing SSL version of its search engine yesterday. It  will prevent third parties from intercepting search terms and search results, as a result of the encrypted connection. Currently it is in its beta stage, but one can still make full use of it by using https every-time you perform a search on Google.

And if you are feeling a bit lazy, you can follow the steps below, to make Google SSL as your default search engine on Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer. With this, every time you perform a search through browser search box, it will be encrypted. Here we go:

Firefox

1. Download and install Add To Search Bar addon, and restart your firefox.

2. Head over to https://www.google.com. Right-click anywhere on the search box and click on Add to search bar… in the menu.

3. A new window will pop-up which will help you create new search engine provider for your search box. Assign it a name and keyword, and click ok to save.

4. Your new search engine has been created. Make it your default search engine by moving it to top spot in Manage search engines… window.

5. After making it your default search engine, an encrypted version of google search is used everytime you perform search with it.

Chrome

1. Go to “Settings” on top-right corner of Chrome browser and click on “Options“.

2. Click on the “Manage” button next to the list of search engines, add a new search engine provider by inserting “Google Secure Search” in place of name (you can add any name) and in place of URL, add:  https://www.google.com/search?q=%s


3. Click OK and make it the default search engine.

Internet Explorer

1. Head over to this web-page to add you own search provider.

2. Add the following details:

URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=TEST

Name: “Any name”

3. Click on Install search provider.

Convert Google Doodle Pacman into multi-Player Game

We just informed you about today’s Google doodle Pacman. Now here is a quick tip shared by Himanshu on getting lady Pacman into this game.

Here is a quick post on converting your single player Pacman into Multi-player Pacman. You will be using keys ASDW to change directions.

To get started with multi-player Pacman, hit On INSERT COIN button twice.

Now you will see two Pacman. One Pacman can be handled by your lady love as picture seems to be of lady Pacman :).

How To Create Wallpaper Using iTunes

Recently, I was using iTunes and I came across a trick to create wallpapers through it. By this trick you can create any wallpaper of your choice.

1.Open iTunes.Play any song.
2.Press Ctrl+T to turn the visualizer On.
3.Now pause the song you are playing.
4.Now,press Ctrl+F to switch to full screen mode.
5.Wait for the background you like.Press Prnt Screen from your keyboard.

6.Again press Ctrl+T to turn the visualizer Off.
7.Now go to Paint located in Programs->Accessories->Paint(Open the Run Command.Type mspaint).
8.Paste the image (Keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V).

9.Save the image in the desired folder (Ctrl+S).

10.You are done creating your own wallpaper.

Get Old Layout of Google Back

Few days back we shared with you that Google has came up with new layout . No wonder that Google’s layout is more attractive and colorful. I like the image search part most. But yet I am not use to the new interface of Google.
