VLC is one of the best video players on the internet with so many excellent features. And now, you can take the screenshots of your favorite movies and tv shows. First of all, download and install VLC Media Player.
Almost everyone reading this might have their own favorite YouTube channels and videos. As a blogger I sometimes create videos of certain features I am covering so readers can get a better perspective. Obviously all these videos are listed publicly and available for anyone to view even without the need to sign-in to their YouTube account.
Personal videos taken of friends and family function can also be shared by having these videos saved as Private and allowing only certain YouTube accounts to view it. What happens if there is friend who wants to see a private video but does not have a YouTube account?
Google now has a third option which is videos can now be saved as unlisted.
The new feature will now not list the video in any search or channel.
It will not show up as video under your account either unless you own that account.
All someone needs to view the video is get the URL of the video. With only the link someone view the video. So it restricts viewing to only people who know the url of the video. 😉
YouTube has really ratcheted up its design and features to allow for better sharing and viewing of videos. This one feature will make people use it more often for personal videos. So what do you think about unlisted videos? Will you be using them? Do drop in your comments.
In past, we have covered some tools which can help you convert videos to different formats for free. It does not only support video files but you can even convert audio and image files to different formats as well.

Recently Google closed down many of its services including Jaiku, Mashup Editor, Google Notebook and other Google products, and now Google Video Blog has come up with an announcement, that it will shortly close down its video services too. Google adds that, though the existing videos will not be deleted and will remain as it is, but they would not entertain any further uploads of videos after a few days. Here Google Video is not to be confused with YouTube that Google brought into its banner sometime in October 2006.
In a few months, we will discontinue support for uploads to Google Video. Don’t worry, we’re not removing any content hosted on Google Video — this just means you will no longer be able to upload new content to the service.
So, people who have already uploaded their videos (including me) need not panic seeing these bad news by Google as existing videos will be left as it is. But new uploaders need to search for some alternatives. And I think YouTube is the best alternative available!
Here comes another hack to download videos from video sharing sites like YouTube, Google Videos, etc! I come across it via a anonymous comment by a Devils Workshops’ reader!
